Today the beautiful Australian red-backed kingfisher (pictured above) just made a new home at our current mining site. We have now ceased mining there (even though we are onto opal!) much to their pleasure. Both the male and the female help in the incubation of the eggs and feed the young. We will now wait with excitement for the young to emerge…
